MasterDrive is a two-day behind-the-wheel crash avoidance skills clinic for new teen drivers. With class sizes limited to 14 students, MasterDrive teaches valuable skills that have saved the lives of local youth and could save your teenager’s life. The clinic differs from driver’s education in that it teaches defensive driving through the use of a skid pad and a closed driving course.
Skills learned include:
- Skid control and recovery (uses a skid pad)
- Dynamic control
- Threshold breaking
- Precision car control
- Backing skills
MasterDrive clinics are held May through October. Scholarships are available with need based applicants a priority.
All MasterDrive graduates receive two semesters of free parking at Summit High School. MasterDrive participants may qualify for discounted insurance rates too - ask your insurance agent.
