Nancy’s Community Garden Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Community & Senior Center Greenhouses, Frisco
We are extremely happy and proud to announce the name of the greenhouse gardens at the Community & Senior Center in Frisco. The greenhouse gardens are named after the late Nancy Ring, former Director of Summit County Government’s Animal Control & Shelter. Nancy valued community involvement and as her husband, John Ring said, she “loved to watch the community come together to grow and accomplish projects.” Friends and family say Nancy would have been proud of the greenhouse project. She would have been deeply touched and honored to have the greenhouse garden established in her name. These greenhouses are providing our food banks with fresh, local produce and giving Summit County Seniors and low-income families a community gathering place to grow their own vegetables and socialize.
Come to celebrate with us this Wednesday! Virgin mojitos and sun tea will be served. All are invited to stay after the ribbon cutting ceremony for QiGong meditation, exercise and a special blessing for the greenhouses led by Chriss Cowan, Qi Gong master.
This project is sponsored by Summit Prevention Alliance and LiveWell Summit County. Please call or e-mail Joanna Rybak for additional information or to volunteer at 970-453-9333 or Joanna@SummitPreventionAlliance.org.
