<p>For the second summer in a row, Summit Prevention Alliance is offering swimming classes for our Latino kids.  The kids really enjoy the classes!  Sixteen kids are currently enrolled in swimming.  During the classes, the kids learn basic skills to help them establish good swimming behaviors and techniques.</p>
<p>The classes currently take place at the rec center.  The recreation center&#8217;s swim instructors do a wonderful job working with the children!  Many thanks go out to the staff at the rec center!</p>
<p> Catch ya at the pool,</p>

It was the 6th annual Tubbs Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer Snowshoe Series that was held on Saturday, March 8th of this year. It was an all snowshoe event and there were over 2,000 participants who helped raise funding for breast cancer research. Summit Prevention Alliance invited <a href="http://summitpreventionalliance.org/passions/latino-outreach/">Latinas en Movimiento (LEM) </a>to join them. We did the 3K fun race; it was so exciting to see Latinas be a part of a new snow sport. We even wore pink bandanas for support.  I heard some comments from the ladies that they wanted to buy snow shoes so they can make this their winter sport. A total of 26 participated 14 women and 11 kids. This is the 2nd year that LEM has participated.</p>
<p>WAY TO GO LEM FOR PARTICIPATING IN A GOOD CAUSE!</p>
