Description of Coalition:
The Tobacco Task Force is a team dedicated to reducing the use and abuse of tobacco, especially by minors, in Summit County. Currently, we are seeing a problem with easy access to tobacco products by our youth. Coupled with the many products that resemble candy and rising tobacco use among our youth, the Tobacco Task Force has decided to pursue policy changes that will make it more difficult for underage youth to acquire tobacco products. Also, the Tobacco Task Force continues to educate students, parents and the community about the dangers of tobacco.
We are always looking for more members and encourage people to join! If you are interested in becoming a member and helping protect our youth against the dangers of tobacco, please contact Carli at carli@summitpreventionalliance.org or 668-2077.
On Halloween 2011 Summit Prevention Alliance staff, Carli Seeba and Colleen True, attended the community Trick or Treat Street in Frisco to hand out healthy treats and Wecount items as well as educate the parents about the dangers of tobacco.
