Healthy Options Uncovered!

On the set! The second season of ¿Que Cocinas? is here! Summit Prevention Alliance is trying out new ideas with hopes of educating more Summit County residents about healthy eating.

Our first show of the season was a big hit. We were able to film the show at City Market in Dillon. The show aims to educate viewers about the healthiest options available at their local grocery store. Thank you Dillon City Market for your support!

Be sure to check out the show on SCTV-10 (Summit County television cable channel 10) or follow the link to SCTV-10’s website to view the schedule.

What’s Cooking?

Last Thursday before Dialogue Over Dinner, we taped the first episode of What’s Cooking? What’s Cooking? is Summit Prevention Alliance’s new healthy cooking show that will be aired on SCTV (Comcast channel 10) locally in Summit County. All day, I was excited and anxious to see how the show would turn out. I helped Ian, our super-duper bilingual chef, purchase the food. When we started to set up, I was thrilled to learn that I would get to help prep the food!

Nervous for those who were going to be taped, I watched as Brad from SCTV began filming. The room was filled with anticipation as we prepared to start. Our executive director, Tom, said that he had chills running down his back. Ian, however, was full of energy and ready to go. Cecilia, Summit County’s premier nutritionist, did an excellent job interpreting (the show is in both English and Spanish). Cecilia also provided some superb nutritional tips throughout the show. Check out the dynamic duo!
