Interim Executive Director and Community Prevention Coordinator, Summit Prevention Alliance, kari@summitpreventionalliance.org Kari became a member of the county in the winter of 2005. She grew up in small town Minnesota and received a BSW from Luther College in Decorah, IA. She then moved to the big city of Fresno, CA as a Youth Director in a local church. Alas, the city proved too big for this small town girl, she was drawn to the mountains, from so many family trips to Estes Park, and she ended up in Fort Collins working in an elementary school with special needs kids.She then took her skills abroad and taught in a small town in South Korea for a year and traveled through some magical places in Asia including Tibet – one of the most awe-inspiring places in the world. Finishing her travels with a month of rock climbing in Thailand was quite memorable! Back in CO she has been a raft guide, snowboard instructor, office manager and substitute teacher for the last year. HOLLY BUSNARDO
Community Prevention Coordinator, Summit Prevention Alliance, holly@summitpreventionalliance.org Holly has been a part of the community in Summit County since 1998, and joined Summit Prevention Alliance in 2004. She was born in Denver, and moved with her family to Portland, Oregon, and then Austin, Texas where her family resides today. Holly received a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science with a focus in health promotion and marketing. She was drawn to the mountains after school, and fell in love with Summit County. Holly worked at the Village at Copper for four years as the Marketing and Events Manager, and enjoyed planning and implementing events at Copper Mountain. Holly has enjoyed being a part of Summit Prevention Alliance where she utilizes her educational background and marketing experience to further the mission of Summit Prevention Alliance.In her free time, Holly and her husband Tony enjoy the outdoors, especially hiking, backpacking, skiing, snowshoeing, trail running, soccer, and volleyball. Community Prevention Coordinator, Summit Prevention Alliance liliana@summitpreventionalliance.org Liliana is one of the coordinators of La Vida Sana (The Healthy Life). La Vida Sana’s focus is to prevent diabetes and cardiovascular disease among the Latino community of Summit County. Liliana has been a part of the Summit County Community since 2003 and joined Summit Prevention Alliance in 2008. Liliana loves her job because she feels like she is making a difference in her own culture. She was born in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois, and moved with her family to Denver, Colorado. Her family is originally from Durango, Mexico. Liliana was drawn to the mountains through her husband Victor, and fell in love with Summit County. Liliana worked at Keystone Resort for two years in Property Management and Mountain Concierge, and enjoyed planning out guest’s vacations. Liliana worked almost three years in the Summit Community Care Clinic and Public Health, where she learned she had a passion for educating immigrants in the community on how to live a healthy life. Liliana has enjoyed being a part of Summit Prevention Alliance where she has expanded her knowledge in Nutrition and Physical Activity and has become involved in a big part of the Latino community. In her spare time, Liliana enjoys spending time with her husband Victor and daughter Kailene, traveling, visiting family, spending time with friends and her involvement with her faith. As a family they enjoy the outdoors by hiking, snowboarding, biking, camping and playing with their dog Mia.

JANNINE WALLDAN, ND, LAc
Community Prevention Coordinator, Summit Prevention Alliancejannine@summitpreventionalliance.orgJannine moved to Summit County in January of 2008 to escape the hustle and bustle of Chicago, IL. She is a Naturopathic Doctor and acupuncturist (Master’s) trained at Bastyr University in Seattle, WA. Dr. Walldan also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Spanish from Carthage College in Kenosha, WI. Jannine loves to cook and has a passion for teaching others to fuse Eastern and Western philosophies to use food as medicine. She can be found preparing healthy meals alongside her co-host Cecilia on episodes of “Que Cocinas” on Summit County Television Channel 10. Dr. Walldan is a co-coordinator of the La Vida Sana program and focuses on the nutrition and physical activity of the Latino population of Summit County. When not cooking, leading an exercise class or discussing nutrition Dr. Walldan enjoys skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, trail running, traveling and hiking with her dog Bear. Jannine is glad to finally be a resident of Summit County and looks forward to being a resource for the community.Favorite Healthy Food: Avocados…guacamole to be exact!Favorite Physical Activity: Snowshoe adventures!
JOANNA RYBAK
Community Prevention Coordinator, Summit Prevention Alliance, joanna@summitpreventionalliance.org Joanna Rybak is the LiveWell Summit County grant manager. LiveWell Colorado’s mission is to inspire and advance policy, environmental and lifestyle changes that promote health through the prevention and reduction of obesity. Joanna’s job is to ensure that everyone in Summit County enjoys a lifestyle that includes healthy eating and active living. Joanna has her BA & MS degrees in Community Health Education and she has been a Certified Health Education Specialist since 2002. She is happy to be working on projects that are meaningful and significant to her and the County. The best part is that Joanna gets to promote what she loves doing: eating nutritiously and being active! After growing up in an urban New Jersey city, Joanna lived and worked in NYC, NY for five years before deciding to head West to Summit County in 2007. Joanna started her Health Educator career at the Karpas Health Information Center of Beth Israel Medical Center, NYC. While working for this hospital’s health education and outreach department, she had fun coordinating numerous wellness programs for the community and staff. Her and her boyfriend decided to leave the Big Apple for the Rocky Mountains and it has been quite a happy adventure. Some of Joanna’s favorite things to do are: yoga, snowboarding, hiking, camping, going to hot springs, traveling and spending quality time with good people.
